Read on to find out more…

The Classics

These are the classic popcorn flavours! The ones you will keep cooking back to time and time again. Always delicious and consistent. If you want popcorn with no added frills, then these are the flavours for you. They’re classics for a reason after all!

Popcorn stand

Butter

The one and the only… butter. Butter makes the perfect popcorn flavour. Melt a chunk of melted butter in the microwave. We recommend using clarified melted butter, as this won’t turn the popcorn soggy. Drizzle the butter over freshly popped popcorn. All done and you're ready to eat!

Popcorn

Icing Sugar

Icing sugar is the key to making the best cinema-style sweet popcorn. This is sweet popcorn, without any fancy additions. Straight to the point, delicious! To make icing sugar popcorn, sprinkle 2-3 tablespoons from a sieve onto the popcorn. If you want extra sweetness, simply add another tablespoon!

Sweet n’ Salty

Last but not least, sweet n’ salty popcorn. This is basically a combination of the two classic flavours above. Drizzle clarified butter on your popcorn, then add some seized icing sugar. Finally, sprinkle a touch of salt for flavour.

Spicy

Spicy popcorn is a little bit divisive. However, if you’re already a fan of spicy food, you’re guaranteed to love popcorn with a bit of a kick. These are our favourite popcorn flavours for when you want some heat!

Popcorn

Cajun Spiced

Cajun is a rustic seasoning made from paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, pepper, and oregano. Cajun is full of flavour and mild spice. You can purchase premade cajun seasoning at the supermarket or make your own at home. Sprinkle the cajun over lightly buttered popcorn. Enjoy as a delicious, addictive savoury snack.

Chilli

If you love all things salty, spicey, and smokey, this popcorn is perfect for you. Combine chilli flakes and chilli powder in a bowl with a little bit of garlic powder, salt, and paprika. Depending on how spicy you like your food, add a lot or a little chilli. Mix the popcorn into the spice and eat immediately.

Curry

Curried popcorn?! Yep, you heard that right. This popcorn is just like a warm, hearty, spicy curry. Curried popcorn is made with curry powder, salt, and a dash of chilli flakes. Curried popcorn is the ultimate healthy snack. It's all the flavour of a full meal but in a snack-size. Yum! Sign me up.

Super Sweet

Do you have a super sweet tooth? If so, you will love these popcorn flavours! We’ve got a Strawberries and Cream popcorn flavour in our jumbo pink gin box!

White Chocolate

White chocolate popcorn is a healthier alternative to a delicious, decadent dessert. Melt white chocolate with butter in a double boiler over simmering water. Stir until the white chocolate and butter have turned silky and soft. Pour the mixture over a bag of popcorn. Stir until the white chocolate sticks to the popcorn.

Cinnamon Roll

Avoid the carbs in a cinnamon roll, with this popcorn flavour! It’s all of the cinnamon goodness, with none of the guilt. It’s so tasty, that you might never need a cinnamon roll again! Combine butter and brown sugar in a pan on a low heat. Stir until it turns into a thick, caramel-like consistency. Add baking soda, vanilla syrup, and lots of cinnamon. Pour the mixture over freshly popped corn, or a packet of store bought popcorn. After the hard part is over, get stuck into this cinnamon treat!

Caramel

Caramel and popcorn go together so well! You can make your own homemade sauce or purchase it pre-made from the store. Whatever caramel you choose, it will certainly be a delight. Our top trick for making caramel popcorn is to bake it in the oven! This creates a coat of caramel that is inseparable from the actual popcorn. The result is a crunchy, chewy ball of caramel popcorn. Yum!

Out of the Box Crazy

If you thought the spicy popcorn was a bit unusual, you’re in for a treat with this lot. Try something new and exciting with these out of the box crazy popcorn flavours.

Popcorn flavours

Thai Curry

The first horse out the gate is definitely a crazy one. You’ll need all the key ingredients of Thai curry to make this popcorn. Place coriander, curry paste, coconut flakes, lime, brown sugar, chilli, and lemongrass into a blender. It may look like you’re about to make a sizzling curry, but you’re actually going to pour the blended ingredients on some popcorn.

Ranch

Ranch seasoned popcorn is for mayonnaise lovers! Mix 4 tablespoons of ranch dressing with a bowl of popcorn. Enjoy this rich, mouthwatering, unique savoury snack with a good movie.

Cheese

It’s super easy to make this cheesy popcorn. Simply grate some cheese and sprinkle it over your popcorn of choice. We recommend using warm popcorn for this recipe. The cheese will become lovely and gooey once it has melted over the popcorn!

Bacon-Caramel

This is a fun twist on the classic sweet n’ salty. Instead of butter and icing sugar, use caramel and crispy bacon bits. Follow the same caramel recipe outlined above. While the caramel popcorn is baking, fry some bacon and cut it into small bits. Stir the bacon into the popcorn and tuck in!

And That Was Our DIY Flavoured Popcorn Guide

There you have it! What are your favourite flavours and what will you be avoiding? Hopefully, you’ve been inspired to try something different next time you're craving some popcorn. Or, maybe you should just stick to the old favourites!
